Welcome to Exile Island! Exile is now bigger than ever and will prove to be the most challenging quest to find the idol in SSOS history. The Exile areas have doubled from four to eight. And an even broader cast of characters stand in your way of getting the most powerful item you can find on Survivor.
If you're new to Exile, here's how it'll work:
One area will contain the Hidden Immunity Idol at the end of it's path. You will need to use trial & error, problem solving and in some cases just blind luck to get to that point. You should start by trying to get into any of the first stage of any area. The password to all first stages will be a number between 1-500.
Once you enter a stage, you will begin a series of quests with the goal to get to the end of stage. Getting to the end of a stage could result in you getting the Hidden Immunity Idol, something that you'll need to move on in Exile or something completely useless.
Unlike previous installments of Exile, you will need to explore to unlock new areas. Some areas will require you to complete "fetch" quests by getting an item unlocked in another area. This will cause you to do a lot of back and forth running as well as potentially wasted time. This means every minute on Exile counts. You have only 24 hours on this island to find the Idol.
You are never allowed to mention anything about the island while you are here. It is 100% against the rules to ask for help from anyone. This is EXILE Island, which means you are doing this on your own. When your stay at Exile is over and you wish to discuss details about what's there, you're more than free to do that. But when you're here, you're alone. Period. If you are caught breaking this rule you will be immediately removed from Exile and will be banned from ever coming back again.
Now before you venture off into this mysterious island, let's give you a quick tour of what you can expect.
The Beach - You've seen so many beaches here during Survivor that they're almost becoming as common as the grass back home. This particular beach is the same one you entered on and could provide a very realistic, if cliche, spot for a Hidden Immunity Idol. A prissy fashion designer has been seen pacing about on the beach, but what's his purpose?
The Cliff - A steep cliff that overlooks the ocean. It's a majestic view and the long climb could be rewarding if you happen to run into the idol. I wouldn't get too close to that weird looking American having a picnic with a laptop, however.
The Mountaintop - The center of Exile Island. A very long climb that overlooks the entire island, giving you a beautiful view. It could also be home to a beautiful idol if you're lucky enough. Be careful though, I wouldn't want to interrupt the intense training of that Japanese puroresu star up there.
The Airfield - An abandoned airfield from World War II. It was once run by Major Sueo Matoba who performed cannibalism on POW's. Due to it's morbid history, it has been a bit of a tourist attraction. However, it's also an area very vulnerable to crime. Be extremely cautious in this area of Exile.
The House - A quiet little house in the middle of Exile, one of the very few that exist on the island. It may be home to a monk or hermit, but nobody is sure nor is anybody willing to find out.
The Construction Site - Yamaguchi Corp made a terrible decision when they planned to build... well, anything out here. And it showed when workers went on strike and eventually fled. It's rumored the construction contract had some ties with the Yakuza. But since the project has been abandoned, nobody is here. Seriously. Nobody. Not a living soul. Be gone Yakuza members, there's nobody here to kill!
The Theme Park - A very short lived theme park that rested on the other edge of the island. It was known for it's ferris wheel that overlooked the ocean and entire island. Due to poor business, it shut down. What was once a site for fun and games turned into a creepy, rusted site for nightmares.
The Woods - There's woods everywhere in Exile, but this particular branch of woods between the Theme Park and beach are thick, dark and mysterious. It is well advised that you stay away from the woods unless you have a map handy on you. There have been several reports of people entering these woods and never coming back. Be extremely cautious!
